Quando o primeiro álbum de Ariana Grande, “Yours Truly” alcançou o primeiro lugar na Billboard 200 em Setembro do ano passado, a cantora de 2o anos tornou-se apenas a 15ª artista solo feminina a estrear seu cd inicial no número #1 da parada de álbuns. Grande disse à Billboard que comemorou por quase uma hora, logo depois já começou a pensar em seu próximo álbum.
“Eu sou viciada no trabalho e uma perfeccionista”, diz Grande que lançou “Problem”, seu primeiro single de seu segundo álbum sem nome divulgado ainda, na noite de Domingo (27 de Abril), após performar no Radio Disney Music Awards ao lado da batida de Iggy Azalea. “Foi muito empolgante para mim essa nova missão de fazer algo tão especial quanto o “Yours Truly”, dedicar todo o meu tempo e esforço em algo tão bom quanto, ou se não melhor”.
Ariana acredita que chegou onde queria em seu segundo álbum, que deve sair entre agosto e setembro: “Eu nunca pensei que seria capaz de dizer isso, mas eu amo este (álbum) cinco vezes mais do que eu amo o “Yours Truly”. Eles são diferentes, mas eu amo muito mais esse último.
Composta por Max Martin e Savan Kotecha, “Problem” emprega um sample de saxofone que lembra, de imediato, hits recentes como Thrift Shop (Macklemore & Ryan Lewis) e Talk Dirty (Jason Derulo). Mas a trilha barulhenta também desencadeia a incrível voz da Ariana, que derrama notas altas com primor. Grande diz que originalmente não queria “Problem” no seu segundo álbum, e depois de tocar a música numa reunião com sua gravadora e empresários, percebeu que tinha um hit em mãos.
